Madeleine has been a practising therapist since 2002. She is passionate about the human potential to live in balance and be pain free through the innate wisdom promoted through Yoga and the ease brought about through body work.
Rolfing she sees as the essential midlife MOT that can re-introduce our bodies to renewed alignment, better movement, less pain & stiffness and improved form. A gift to those whose physical bodies have been compromised through traumatic injuries, long held vocational postures or repetitive stress. The Rolfing journey is not only transformative but also educational - helping one to have better understanding of one’s self.
Formerly a professional classical musician, her interest in body work and natural health began whilst writing her dissertation on Stress and Relaxation, for her BSc in Human Sciences, University College London. Being a keen traveller, she has lived and worked in Europe, S-E Asia and Africa, and spent long periods in India, where she has been studying and practising yoga. Madeleine is qualified in a range of therapies – Sports Massage (LSSM 2001), Thai massage, Rolfing (The Rolf Guild 2012), and Yoga Therapy 2020 (American Vini-yoga Association); as well as having additional skills in Cranio – Sacral Therapy (Upledger), Anatomy In Motion, and Ayurvedic Face Massage.
She is a member of the International Association for Structural Integration and fully insured through Balens. Through her various trainings she has a very holistic approach and can tailor bodywork sessions to your requirements.
She offers;
• Structural bodywork or Rolfing - Recommended for chronic injuries and pain. Has your posture become an issue? Uneven hips, rounded hunched shoulders, a protruding forward neck, flat feet? Causing back ache, the inability to do simple movements or walk, pain and stiffness? Has injury, age or gravity and RSI from your job pulled you out of postural alignment? If Yes - then this holistic, progressive bodywork will treat you like putty and mould your body back to shape - alleviating strain, pain and stiffness.
• Remedial Massage - This is holistic deep tissue and restorative treatment, using a variety of techniques from sports massage to work both the muscles and balance the nervous system. It looks to reduce chronic tension brought about from our vocational postures, and the stress caused by lingering injuries such as whiplash, strains and sprains, and the emotional stress of life.
• Anxiety Soother…A remedial approach for stress reduction, energy balancing and emotional calming. This is a very calming and grounding treatment, that soothes the nervous system down from its intense fight and flight state. Utilising wisdom taken from - Reiki, Acupressure, Marma point massage and Craniasacral techniques.

ABOUT ROLFING: Structural Integration or Rolfing is a deep tissue postural alignment therapy, releasing fascial restrictions around the body, increasing joint congruence and helping muscles to rebalance in their opposing actions across joints. This enables bodily segments to align correctly in the field of gravity, enhancing ease of movement and balance, improving sporting performance, reducing stiffness, resolving pain, swellings and many neural issues. An essential for those who have suffered traumatic injuries, where unresolved scar tissue compromises movement & muscular action, and may impinge nerve passage. Structural integration takes place through a number of sessions which systematically address different parts of the body, and progressively build on one another, working the body from the superficial to deeper postural/ core structures; working the feet, knees and hips to provide a good base for the spine, and working to get the spine and head back on axis.
Sessions can be booked individually, or as a 3 series for a mini body balance, or as a 10 series. Individual sessions – for specific areas of pain or muscular dysfunction. Three Series – providing a mini body balance. Ten Series – recommended for those where injury, age, repetitive stress from your job has pulled you out of postural alignment, and you want to treat yourself to a midlife MOT.
